LYYN T38™ released - the real-time image enhancer for analog video

It's here!

LYYN T38™ is the solution to your visibility problems in fog, haze, smoke, dust, rain, low-light and many more situations.

The true power of LYYN T38™ is that the visibility enhancement is done in real-time in a live video stream. And you can also use it on stored material. Use the LYYN T38™ to enhance the feed from a surveillance camera in a video security system. Or to enhance a video tape in a camera brought back to office after some police fieldwork. Or wherever you need to see more with video.

The LYYN T38™ is easy to use. Connect it in-between the camera and a monitor, tv set or vcr and you are up and running. With controls for enhancement level and size and position of a rectangular selection of the scene you can always make sure to catch the object on film, and see it.

If you need visibility aid in the field you connect the LYYN T38™ in-between your camera and an external screen. The screen will show enhanced visibility real-time, helping you zooming and focusing on the right object.

Go to the LYYN T38™ page for more information

Peter Jonsson, lecturer at Engineering Geology, Lund University (to the left)
receives the first LYYN T38™ from Andreas Ekengren, Managing Director of LYYN (to the right).

Peter immediately put his T38 in to some good use, processing video he had taken of the see floor outside the harbor of Ystad.

The second unit was delivered to the Swedish Police with this remark from the receiver: "I did not really dare to hope that it would work as well as your demonstration, but it does. Even if it had only been half as good it would still be worth it's price." We at LYYN can only express our gratitude for this very positive feedback.

Safer landing with LYYN and SAAB Systems

LYYN and SAAB Systems enter into a cooperation in the field of air traffic control and safety. The first result of this cooperation is the common proposal, "Advanced Remote Tower - ART", to the European Commission (6th Framework Programme on Research, Technological Development and Demonstration) together with Luftfartsverket, National Aerospace Laboratory (Netherlands) and Equipe Electronics Limited (UK).

Click on image for a larger version

The ART proposal will study the concept of remotely operated ATC (Air Traffic Control) units and supporting technologies in order to enhance regularity during low visibility operations and to substantially decrease the ATC related costs at airports.

The purpose is to explore the concept and to test and validate additional sensors that will enhance the air traffic controllers’ situational awareness at reduced visibility conditions due to weather and darkness. The ART concept will in turn be one of the bricks in the future concept of highly automated ATM at airports.

The proposal has recently made the short list.

Engineering Geology at Lund University introduces LYYN V.E.T. for under water usage

”Engineering Geology at Lund University has over the last 20 years or so been working with underwater assessments of different types. A significant part of the work is dedicated to the use of video for mapping and inspection purposes. Here, we work mainly with technology and methodology – the applications are found in several fields, ranging from inspection and monitoring of objects to pre-investigations and marine habitat mapping. We look forward to be able to work with the LYYN technology, which we think is directly applicable to increase the efficiency in video assessments.

The brief tests are, put mildly, promising. The future co-work will initially be centred on a systematic evaluation of the benefits and limitations of the method, when used in underwater applications. In the future we hope to be able co-operate in finding new applications.” says Peter Jonsson, lecturer at Engineering Geology.

”For historic reasons LYYN has a good relationship with different institutions at the Lund University. In this cooperation we take a few more steps. Besides evaluating LYYN V.E.T. Engineering Geology will utilize our technology as a tool in their research and contract development and studies. They are also the first customer to a new LYYN V.E.T. based product that we will launch this spring.” says Fredrik Beckman, Marketing Manager LYYN AB.
