NEWS FROM LYYN
"The Best New Product This Year"

The Underwater Source (http://www.uwsource.com/) liked what they saw of LYYN T38 at Underwater Intervention 2007.

"We just returned from UI2007, and it was another great event!

In our opinion, the best new product this year is a video enhancement product called the
"LYYN T38 Visibility Enhancement Technology"."

We at LYYN can only say; Thank you!

The reseller network grows

”For LYYN, this phase of rapid expansion is a milestone. With our new addition of resellers, we are well under way to reach a good market coverage. The addition of partners in Asia and Australia is critical for us, as is our local presence in the Gulf of Mexico. We’re focusing hard on supporting our resellers, as ’all business is local’. To us this indicates that we’re doing something right, and that the LYYN T38 is actually working well in offshore environments.

User feedback strongly indicates that LYYN T38 performs really well, increasing the productivity in sub sea tasks. This is especially true in close-range inspection work, wher instead of aborting a dive due to lack of visibility (waiting for visibility to clear), a vessel can stay on site and complete a project.”

Advanced Marine Pte Ltd is South East Asia's leading supplier and manufacturer of Commercial Diving & Underwater Equipment. Founded over 27 years ago, Advanced Marine is the longest established supply company in this region.

“Advanced Marine are pleased to represent LYYN in the Marine Offshore arena of ASEAN Nations especially their new T38 real time video enhancer. This product greatly improves colour video signals in a real time atmosphere allowing ROVs or Divers to get video documentation in silty or low visibility situations. We are excited by the response we are already getting from our customers.”

“We believe the LYYN system will offer significant enhancements to the ability of both divers and ROV’s in the commercial and military arenas. The “”Lyynification” video enhancement will improve efficiency, reduce error and most significantly enhance the safety of the diver in low visibility conditions. The advantages to oilfield operations, search and rescue and military operations will be significant, and we look forward to offering the system to existing and new clients in these arenas.”

Doug Austin, Managing Director,
Divex Asia Pacific Pty Ltd

”This unique and specialized product fits immediately into our line of products. We were first introduced to the LYYN technology at the Underwater Intervention 2007, and the market response to the T38 has been great.

As we supply and service many of the sub sea contractors operating in the Gulf, the possibility to clear up bad visibility in real-time video is great. The Gulf is all about bad vis’.”

Surrealist paintings may never be the same again. Scientists have deciphered the secret behind how the brain can be tricked by optical illusions.

Psychologists at Glasgow University used advanced brain-imaging technology to map the brainwaves of volunteers as they looked at surreal images. They found that the participants' brains absorbed all the information from a painting by breaking it down into separate "brainwaves", tiny electrical impulses in the brain.

But the researchers claim that while all the brainwaves occur at once, the brain is only able to decode one at a time, meaning the volunteers could only concentrate on a single aspect of the painting. Dr Phillipe Schynes, who led the project, claims this explains why the brain is so easily fooled by optical illusions featuring hidden images that seem difficult to miss once they are noticed.

Under water video tips

Unfortunately, not every diver has a LYYN T38. However, there are many things you can do to improve your under water film result, especially if you have good visibility.

Here is a good article aimed towards the advanced hobbyist.

N.B. Please be aware that some of the tips are in fact working against the result of lyynification. For instance, if you introduce red filtering, that red will be picked up and becomes clearly visible on lyynified material.

Something you can't do without a LYYN T38...
