NEWS FROM LYYN™
SeaBotix evaluates LYYN T38

”Recently we presented our various line of products including LYYN. The customer and I were very impressed by the LYYN.

While operating in the water we had the LYYN T38 plugged into one of our systems and not the other. I found navigating with the T38 remarkable with the increased color and contrast. Navigating without the T38 was far more difficult.

This was our first real in water experience using the LYYN T38 with our products and it is very impressive.”

Welcome to the new LYYN™ Showroom at www.lyynified.com.

We believe that when we show samples of what LYYN™ V.E.T. can do it sometimes really feels like "demo". It is often more interesting to see what other people are doing with our technology and products in real life.

On this new web site we will be publishing video material shared by customers and partners.

Please, go have a look!

LYYN™ moves to new office

To meet the success of the introduction of LYYN T38™ we are moving in to new offices. We are staying in Ideon Science Park in Lund so all contact information remains unchanged.

However, we have a new visiting address: Scheelevägen 17

Ronny Johnsson - new Director of APAC

To manage the huge interest in LYYN™ V.E.T. and LYYN T38™ we are rapidly ramping up the sales organization. We welcome our new Regional Director for Asia-Pacific; Ronny Johnsson. We have had a cooperation for some months but from April 1 he is now formally a responsible for the sales of the entire region.

Ronny is a true entrepreneur who for more than 30 years has developed companies in the computer and communication business. Already in 1974 he started his first own company, Ronex AB, producing his own electronic and communication products in Asia and selling them in the Nordic markets.

In 1986 he started a new company called UpGrade Communication AB, which became the exclusive agent for D-Link and BreezeCom in the Nordic markets. When UpGrade was sold in 1999 the company sales was about 18 million US $ with 9 offices all over the Nordic and Baltic regions.

In 2003 Ronny left UpGrade Communication as the CEO and started his own consultant company Aracta. Since then he has been working with several international companies to develop their business in different markets over the world.

"One of the most exiting products I have seen is the LYYN™ enhanced video system. I look forward very much to develop the Asia Pacific markets for LYYN. I strongly believe that there will be a very big market for this unique product especially for traffic security on roads, in airports and in harbors but also for help in the police job."

The highway mirage

Black asphalt highways form a perfect substrate for the production of mirages. As the sun illuminates the pavement, it's temperature rises significantly. The hot asphalt then warms a thin layer of air over the pavement. Warm air has a lower index of refraction than cool air. Thus, the interface between the warm and cool air forms a mirror when viewed at a high angle.

The mirror reflects an image of the sky to an observer. Because the sky is blue, and because of the shimmering effect caused by slight variations in the heating of the air over the pavement, the reflected view of the sky closely resembles standing water.

Notice that the headlights of the oncoming car are visible at two points in the mirage. This is caused by the change in the angle of the road, which can be seen by referring to the white stripe along the road at the right side of the image.

Video glossary

Ever wondered about what "Orthogonal Sampling" is? Or "Lossless Compression"?

We at LYYN™ encounter many video technologies and terminologies. We have found a good dictionary on the web at http://www.myvtp.com/htm/glossary.htm well worth a visit for anyone working with video.
